I mean. What are the chances that a ufa is not a depreciating asset? It’s like buying a new car |

None. There is always a reason to pass on anyone. To much term...to much money. Whatever. Taking a guy after a down year is probably smart. |

He played 666 regular season games... he's as good as signed.
To be honest... he's a lightweight player, which I wouldn't want on the top 6 since we have too many featherweights already, but he's one of them rare lightweights that improve when the games matter more.
I wouldn't be angry if the Devils signed him to a reasonable contract and had him as a middle 6 option. |

If you avoid the long term monster deals then it can be a great asset for playoff teams.

Totally agree but something tells me some crazy GM will pay him 5 mil + for at least 3 yrs. My offer to him would be a PTO. Why because he only scores when he's playing with high end center. |

Ray hasn’t really spent much on UFAs. Going way out on a limb and assuming the draft Hughes, going into next season they already have:
Hall-Nico-Bratt
Coleman-Hughes- Palmieri
Zacha-Zajac-Anderson
Wood-McLeod-Bastian
Plus some spare parts and unknowns like Boqvist. Unless a trade falls into his lap I don’t see him making many moves at forward.
Defense on the other hand is still an utter mess. |

I really like Kase. Just not sure the Ducks are going to trade him with that cheap contract. Although they are a team that probably wants to move players in a big shakeup. |

McLeod showed nothing. Anderson is somewhat promising. Bastian seems legit. But it still looks like there is easily room for a quality FA forward.
The D is a mess but the problem seems like it’s as much Nessredine as the players.

He's had some incredibly bad luck with a couple of injuries. He got head shotted by the kermit Mcdouche in a preseason game against the Kings.
And then this shoulder surgery. But he's got way too much skill and finish added to the fact he's fearless and a great forechecker. Ducks need more guys like him not less. |

There’s room, especially in the top 6. I just don’t see us signing an impact forward. On your point about McLeod, I could definitely see us signing a 4C and giving Drew Stafford another PTO. Exciting times.
I don’t disagree on Nessredine, but, let’s be honest outside of Vatanen and Severson we don’t have a Dman that’s capable of consistent top 4 minutes. Maybe Butcher becomes one, maybe Smith, but right now it’s ugly. |

Todd Cordell: Stay away from Jordan Eberle - Todd.Cordell
I agree with you Todd. I have said we need RW's and Eberle would help do if no other players are added. Ideally, we would sign Donskoi as our 3rd RW, and offer sheet Kapenan as a 1/2 RW.
But if absolutely nobody fills any of those roster spots, I would be ok with Eb's, 2 years at the most. We are desperate and beggers can't be choosers. |

I actually liked our D down the stretch. Sev/Vats/Carrick seem rock solid on the Right. The left is what needs attention in my opinion. Butch is really a 2nd pairing D at best, but he is our top LD. Greene needs a serious reduction in minutes to be effective. I expect Smith to be ready for the NHL, and maybe Walsh or Davies could surprise us, but more than likely will need to play a season with Bing.
I would not be opposed to adding a proven play-driving LD like Gardiner if it were for a term or 3 years or less. They guy puts up numbers every year, and would likely appreciate a town with less media coverage. |

EBERLE is good for 60 points.a season....
He will also be paying on the TOP LNE with HALL...those numbers will rise.....
Sign him to a 3-4 year deal..... |

Have you ever been 29 going on 30? I have, and lots of players have. Sports get harder, not easier around that time.
Eberle was never a star and hasn't been productive in YEARS and will *likely* not pass 50 points again in his career. pass. |
